Bride Wears Her Own Design to Antigua Beach Wedding

Model and designer Liv Rosewood integrated her professional expertise into her personal celebration by creating her own wedding attire for her marriage to Alistair Smallwood. The couple held a barefoot beach wedding in Antigua, a location inspired by a previous trip the pair took as an official couple.

Rosewood designed a crochet gown and a vintage-inspired Juliet veil for the occasion, opting for a laid-back aesthetic that complemented the tropical setting.

A Relationship Defined by Chance and Planning

The couple first met in London at the age of 23. Rosewood recalls that she had been invited to a dinner party at Smallwood’s home by a mutual friend, marking the first time their paths had crossed.

Shortly after meeting, Rosewood asked Smallwood to accompany her on a family holiday to St. Barths as a fake boyfriend so she would have a companion. While the planned trip was ultimately canceled due to the pandemic, the pair became a real couple during that period.

The road to the altar included a proposal in September 2024. Smallwood arranged a walk in Holland Park, specifically leading Rosewood to Holland Park Mews. He chose this location because it was the site of the house where the couple spent lockdown in 2021, which served as their first home together.

Ceremony and Symbolic Themes

The wedding service in Antigua was led by actor Stanley Morgan, who served as Smallwood’s best man. Morgan’s address focused on the complementary nature of the couple’s personalities, describing them as existing at the intersection of order and freedom.

Within this framework, Rosewood was identified as the element of freedom, while Smallwood represented order.

Reception Details and Custom Decor

Following the beach ceremony, the celebration began with a cocktail hour featuring a steel band. The reception lunch included speeches from Smallwood and two of his four best men, identified as Jack and James.

Rosewood curated the visual elements of the reception to reflect the vibrancy of the island. She selected a colorful tablecloth featuring pinks and oranges, which Smallwood hand-carried to Antigua from New York City.

The table settings featured personalized touches for each guest, including:

• Postcards featuring the guest’s name and a pop art version of their likeness on the front.
• A favorite memory shared by the couple and a questionable trait of the guest written on the back.
• Fruit-focused centerpieces designed to maintain a relaxed island atmosphere.

The couple also incorporated last-minute entertainment in the form of a magician. Rosewood noted that the addition was successful, recounting that the magician kept pulling bunnies out of nowhere and that the wedding ended up with nine bunnies.
