Author Julia Quinn recently offered insights into the upcoming season of Bridgerton, revealing details about Season 4, which will spotlight Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his love interest, sophie Baek. Quinn shared her experiences from visiting the set and viewing scripts wiht US Weekly, highlighting the series’ dedication to family dynamics.
Quinn noted the shift in the show’s adaptation order initially sparked some controversy. The series began by adapting the first two books in order, leading fans to expect Benedict’s story next. However, Season 3 adapted Colin’s story instead, which Quinn said surprised some fans.
Despite the initial backlash, Quinn hopes fans will appreciate the decision, emphasizing that the delay means more Benedict in the overall storyline. she also pointed to showrunner Jess Bronwell’s commitment to a faithful adaptation.

“I’ve read all the scripts, and I’ve seen some of the episodes. I did get to see a few scenes get filmed, and the one that they were working on most of the time was a group scene… That’s always really special to see because one of the things that I think the show does so well is capture the sense of family.”
“I was a little surprised by how angry the ‘Benophie’ fans were…I felt like saying, ‘Hey, you know the longer we wait for them, the more Benedict we get in the story’ as the way things [go in the book] onc a couple has their main story, you see a bit less of them. I think it’ll be worth the wait.”
