The film introduces piper (Sora Wong) and Andy (Billy Barratt), step-siblings bound by a protective relationship. After their father’s death, they enter foster care under Laura’s supervision. Laura, though, fixates on Piper, who resembles her deceased daughter Cathy (Mischa Heywood). Andy soon realizes Laura’s intentions are far more sinister than simple favoritism, especially wiht the presence of Oliver (Jonah Wren phillips), a disturbed boy she claims is her nephew.

The Cruel Climax of Bring Her Back
Bring Her Back offers little respite as it races toward its bleak conclusion. Laura’s grief leads her to attempt a dark ritual to resurrect Cathy, whose body she has preserved. The ritual involves transferring a dead person’s spirit into another body through a possessed host. Oliver, revealed to be a kidnapped boy named Connor, is forced to consume cathy’s remains to then transfer them into Piper, who is to be sacrificed by drowning.
After enduring weeks of torment, Andy seeks help from his caseworker, Wendy (Sally-Anne Upton). When Wendy discovers the truth, Laura attempts to kill her and Andy, succeeding in Wendy’s death and drowning Andy. Piper discovers Andy’s body and tries to escape, but Laura subdues her and begins the ritual.
As Laura drowns Piper, Piper cries out “Mom,” causing Laura to realize she cannot go through with the act.Piper escapes and is rescued by her goalball coach. Police later find Laura with Cathy’s remains and Connor, who has regained his senses.
The film concludes with Piper hearing a plane, remembering Andy’s words about planes carrying souls to the afterlife.
