British Teenager Killed in Stabbing in Portugal

Incident Overview
A teenage British boy has died after being stabbed in Tomar, a city in central Portugal, according to reports from the country’s criminal police, the Judicial Police.
The incident,initially reported as a potential domestic violence situation,also involved the stabbing of the alleged attacker. Both the boy and the attacker sustained injuries from a bladed weapon and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Details of the Attack
Portuguese police identified the alleged perpetrator as the former partner of the boy’s mother. The mother was discovered wiht signs of restraint and assault and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities were alerted by the National Republican Guard (GNR) after receiving reports concerning a possible domestic violence incident. Upon entering the residence,officers detected a strong smell of gas,which subsequently led to an explosion that injured one of the GNR officers.
Perpetrator’s History
The alleged assailant had previously served a prison sentence for aggravated homicide. The family had been previously flagged by authorities due to documented domestic violence cases registered in both 2022 and 2023.

The British Foreign Office confirmed it is in contact with local authorities and is prepared to offer consular support, according to a statement released by the office.
