Brittany Lang Named Solheim Cup Assistant Captain
Updated June 03, 2025
Angela Stanford, U.S. Solheim Cup Captain, has tapped Brittany Lang as her third assistant captain for the upcoming Solheim Cup. The event is scheduled for Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands in 2026.
Lang, 39, a major champion with two LPGA Tour titles including the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open, will support Stanford alongside fellow assistants Kristy McPherson and Paula Creamer. Together, they will lead the top 12 American female golfers against their European counterparts in the biennial competition.
Lang has represented the U.S. in the Solheim Cup five times (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017). Her partnership with Brittany Lincicome in four-ball matches stands as the most successful in the event’s history, with a flawless 4-0-0 record.
“This is probably one of the highest honors I’ve had in my career. I’m excited to learn, to help and to experience the atmosphere as an assistant captain,” Lang said.
Stanford highlighted lang’s key qualities. “The traits that have always impressed me the most about Brittany are her confidence and her demeanor,” Stanford said. “If Lang has ever been rattled, you would never know.”
The United States secured victory at the Solheim Cup in September in Gainesville, Va., preventing Europe from achieving a fourth consecutive win.
