Broadway on the Bay Brings “A Very Broadway christmas” to the Mahaffey Theatre
St. Petersburg’s newest professional theater company, Broadway on the Bay, is bringing holiday cheer to the Duke Energy Centre for the Arts Mahaffey Theater with their dazzling production of “A Very Broadway Christmas.” This festive extravaganza, running December 20th at 4pm and 8pm, promises a night of unforgettable entertainment for the whole family.
Founded by Broadway veterans Scott Difford and Heather Tepe, Broadway on the bay is dedicated to bringing the magic of Broadway to the Tampa Bay area. After successful careers on the Great White Way, including a memorable run together in “Matilda the Musical,” the duo decided to make St. Pete their home in 2021.
“We fell in love with the vibrant arts scene in St. Pete,” says Tepe. “We knew we wanted to share our passion and experience with this incredible community.”
“A Very Broadway Christmas” showcases the talents of Broadway stars representing over 25 iconic shows, alongside a talented local ensemble of 16 performers. The production also features the beautiful voices of the Pinellas County Center for the Arts Vox Nova Chamber Choir, a live band, and the dazzling talents of Tampa’s own “America’s Got Talent” semifinalist, Pranysqa Mishra.
“This show is a true celebration of the holiday season,” says Difford. “we’ve combined the best of Broadway with local talent to create a truly unique and unforgettable experience.”
