Bruins Look to Bounce Back After Loss

The Boston Bruins aim to recover after a tough 7-2 loss to the Dallas Stars on Thursday. The team struggled with a lack of consistency and has traded wins and losses over their last five games following two straight victories last weekend. They won against the St. Louis Blues earlier this week and will face them again at TD Garden.

In a lineup change, the Bruins placed Hampus Lindholm on injured reserve and recalled forwards Georgii Merkulov and Riley Tufte from Providence. Patrick Brown moves to the P-Bruins. Tyler Johnson may return to play after being a healthy scratch last game.

Brandon Carlo took a hard hit against the Stars, and his status for Saturday’s game is uncertain. Andrew Peeke remains out due to an upper-body injury, possibly resulting in Boston playing with seven defensemen if Carlo cannot play. Joonas Korpisalo is expected to start, as Jeremy Swayman has played three consecutive games.

The Bruins and Blues will meet at TD Garden for a 1 p.m. ET puck drop. Fans can follow the coverage on NESN after the pregame show.

Projected Lines for the Bruins:

  • Forwards: Morgan Geekie, Pavel Zacha, David Pastrnak; Brad Marchand, Elias Lindholm, Justin Brazeau; Trent Frederic, Charlie Coyle, Cole Koepke; John Beecher, Patrick Brown, Mark Kastelic.
  • Defensemen: Nikita Zadorov, Charlie McAvoy; Mason Lohrei, Brandon Carlo; Jordan Oesterle, Parker Wotherspoon.
  • Goalie: Joonas Korpisalo.

Projected Lines for the Blues:

  • Forwards: Jake Neighbours, Pavel Buchnevich, Jordan Kyrou; Brandon Saad, Brayden Schenn, Dylan Holloway; Alexey Toropchenko, Radek Faksa, Nathan Walker; Mathieu Joseph, Oskar Sundqvist, Kasperi Kapanen.
  • Defensemen: Ryan Suter, Colton Parayko; Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Justin Faulk; Scott Perunovich, Matthew Kessel.
  • Goalie: Joel Hofer.

Both teams look to make an impact in this important matchup.
