Brutal Blood Pact: Three Men Charged in Sofia Delgado’s Femicidio
Murder of Sofía Delgado: Details of the Case
Alejandro Bevilacqua and Eduardo Mordini made a “blood pact” to kill Sofía Delgado, a 20-year-old woman who was reported missing for 16 days in San Lorenzo, Santa Fe. According to prosecutor Carlos Ortigoza, Bevilacqua and Mordini, along with Brian Bauman, are accused of murdering Sofía due to violence against women.
The prosecutor detailed that Bevilacqua and Mordini planned to solidify their friendship through this crime. In messages found on their phones, Bevilacqua expressed intentions to commit the act to release his anger.
On November 1st, formal charges of “qualified homicide for premeditated conspiracy by two or more persons against a woman” were filed against the three men. Natalia Palavecino and Mirando Leguizamón face charges of “aggravated concealment” of the femicide but remain free under certain conditions.
The court ordered six months of preventive detention for Bevilacqua, Mordini, and Bauman. Messages revealed their intent, with one stating, “Let’s mess up Sofía,” indicating a desire to harm her as part of their plan.
Details of the Crime
Prosecutor Ortigoza described how Bevilacqua used a prior relationship with Sofía to lure her on the night of October 30. He picked her up in a Peugeot 308 and took her to a shed owned by Mordini, where they murdered her through mechanical asphyxiation.
The autopsy confirmed Sofía’s cause of death as asphyxia, although it is still unclear if a specific tool was used or if it was manual. Bauman allegedly assisted in concealing the body after the murder, binding Sofía and placing her in a black bag. He transported her body to a rural area, where it was discovered on November 15.
Role of the Women
Leguizamón and Palavecino are connected to the case under the charge of aggravated concealment. Leguizamón, who is pregnant, allegedly helped Bevilacqua avoid the police by sheltering him at her home, where incriminating evidence was found.
The investigation continues, with authorities analyzing additional evidence collected from the shed owned by Mordini and the vehicle linked to Sofía’s disappearance. Investigators are also examining blood stains and hair found inside the Peugeot.
This case highlights serious issues regarding femicide and violence against women, prompting community discussions and demands for justice.
