The matchup pits two hungry contenders against each other while risking their high world rankings. Flores holds the No. 14 spot by the International Boxing Federation and No. 10 by the World Boxing Council with a 29-1-1 record featuring 16 knockouts. Núñez enters the ring ranked No. 6 by the World Boxing Association with an 18-0-2 record and 8 knockouts.
Núñez captured the WBA Continental Americas 140-pound title in April after scoring a second-round knockout against Cuban Olympic medalist Erislandy Álvarez in Santiago, Chile. Núñez trains at the Gimnasio Rockero Alcázar under former world champion Vicente Mosquera and Xavier Barría.
Contenders and Previous Bouts Leading to Texas
Flores, a 30-year-old native of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, makes his third ProBoxTV appearance following a majority decision win over Starling Castillo in January and a unanimous decision victory against Jonathan Navarro in July. His sole career loss came in August 2024 via a controversial split decision against undefeated contender Lindolfo Delgado.
Núñez, a 27-year-old raised in Curundú, Panama, secured his undefeated record across multiple weight classes from featherweight to super lightweight, earning notable victories over Álvarez, Alfredo Jorge Luis Soto, and Maykol Mendoza.

The main card also features an undefeated welterweight bout between Ruben Eduardo Aguilar (24-0-1, 21 KOs) and Guido Emmanuel Schramm (17-4-3, 10 KOs), alongside an eight-round welterweight fight matching Elijah Flores (10-1, 4 KOs) against Axl Melendez Salgado (7-1-1, 4 KOs).
YouTube Broadcast Costs Five Dollars for Championship Series
ProBox Promotions presents the event in association with King’s Promotions, and viewers can register on YouTube for five dollars to watch the Championship Series broadcast. While a victory for Núñez could position him closely for a world title opportunity in the 140-pound division currently commanded by WBA titleholder Gary Antuanne Russell, neither promotion has confirmed whether the bout is an official world title eliminator.
