Lakeland, FL – Tucked away in a​ quiet corner ‌of ⁢Lakeland, a vibrant community garden is ‍flourishing, thanks to the dedication of local residents and the support of Lakeland PBS. the “Growing Together” garden, located behind⁢ the Lakeland Public Library, is more than just a patch of land; it’s‍ a testament to the power of community and a source of fresh, healthy food for those in need.

“This garden is a true labour of love,” says Maria Sanchez, a volunteer who has been ​tending to the plots since it’s​ inception. “We started with just a few raised beds,and now we⁣ have over 20,bursting with tomatoes,peppers,herbs,and more.”

The “Growing Together” garden was born from a desire to address food insecurity ‌in the community. Lakeland PBS, recognizing the need, partnered with local organizations and ​residents ⁣to create a space where people could grow their own food and connect with their neighbors.

“We believe that everyone deserves access⁢ to⁤ fresh, healthy food,” ‍says ⁤Sarah Jones, Lakeland PBS Community Outreach Coordinator.⁢ “This garden not only ​provides ​that, but ⁢it⁣ also ⁢fosters a sense of community and empowers⁣ individuals to take‌ control of their ​own well-being.”
