The three drama OST songs in which BTS’s V participated surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify, showing off his status as the ‘K-OST King’.
The OST ‘It’s Definitely You’ from the drama ‘Hwarang’, in which V performed his first acting role, surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify on October 27th. I participated in ‘Even If I Die, It’s You’ with member Jin. V broke the record of becoming the first K-pop artist to surpass 200 million streams for all three OSTs.
In 2020, V released ‘Sweet Night’, the OST for the drama ‘Itaewon Class’, for which he not only sang, but also wrote lyrics, composed music, and produced the song.
‘Sweet Night’ currently records 395 million streams. ‘Sweet Night’ broke a record by becoming the first song in the world to reach #1 on iTunes in 119 countries.

‘Christmas Tree’, the OST of the drama ‘That Year We Were’ released in 2021, is currently recording 420 million streams.
‘Christmas Tree’ was evaluated as V’s unique emotional vocals in the crucial romance scene between the male and female leads, raising the emotional level and increasing the immersion of the drama.
‘Christmas Tree’ became the first K-OST to enter Billboard’s main single chart ‘Hot 100’, and also debuted at number 55 on the ‘Holiday Hot 100’ chart. In addition, it was the first K-OST to reach #1 on the ‘US Digital Song Sales Chart’ and also #1 on the ‘Holiday Digital Song Sales’ chart.
The American magazine ‘Elite Daily’ selected ‘Christmas Tree’ as one of ’24 playlist songs released after Y2K that will become new Christmas classics’. British media ‘Edinburgh Live’ said in 2023, “The most selected song on Spotify’s Christmas playlist was V’s ‘Christmas Tree’, not Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.”
