Buffalo Bills to Face San Francisco 49ers Amid 3 Feet of Predicted Snow

by Catherine Williams - Chief Editor

The Buffalo Bills will face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night in Buffalo. A severe lake-effect storm warning is in effect, predicting 2 to 3 feet of snow. Snowplows were dispatched to the Bills’ Highmark Stadium on Friday, and volunteers are being recruited to help clear snow, similar to what was done for a playoff game last January.

Erie County executive Mark Poloncarz warned about the dangerous travel conditions for fans heading to the game. He stated, “We do not expect the game to be postponed… [But] people need to be prepared. It’s the first real cold of the season.”

The National Weather Service is forecasting “whiteout conditions” from Saturday to Monday, making travel difficult and potentially hazardous. Lake-effect snow can lead to significant variations in weather conditions over short distances.

The game is scheduled to start at 8:20 p.m. ET.
