KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 – Two brothers, V Kirtik Ram, 19, and V Theshvinram, 18, stood trial at the Shah Alam Magistrates’ Court today, facing serious charges related to a kidnapping and assault incident that occurred in Bukit Puchong last week.The case, which gained critically important traction after a video of the event went viral on social media, has drawn public attention to the alleged actions of the two siblings.
The Allegations Unveiled
The charges brought against the brothers detail a disturbing event that allegedly took place on July 22 at approximately 6:38 PM on Jalan Persiaran Permai, Bukit Puchong. prosecutors contend that V Kirtik Ram, employed as a lorry attendant, and V theshvinram, a delivery rider, jointly abducted a 21-year-old man. The core of the prosecution’s argument is that the brothers intended to unlawfully and secretly confine the victim, a serious offence under Malaysian law.

The primary charge of kidnapping is being prosecuted under Section 365 of the Penal Code.This section addresses the offense of kidnapping or abducting with the intention to secretly and wrongfully confine a person.Conviction under this statute carries a significant penalty,with a maximum prison term of seven years and the possibility of a fine. the court heard that the brothers pleaded not guilty to this charge.
Secondary Charge: Voluntarily Causing hurt
Along with the kidnapping charge, the brothers also face a second accusation of voluntarily causing hurt to the same victim. The penalties for this charge are less severe than kidnapping, with a maximum sentence of one year’s imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or a combination of both.
