Bulacan Water Service Maintenance Triggers Regional Class Suspensions
The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System scheduled the temporary shutdown of its Bulacan facility to carry out essential maintenance work.
GMA Network reported that concurrent class suspensions also took place on October 12, 2026, in other regions due to water service maintenance, poor air quality, and local festivities. Those earlier disruptions extended beyond Bulacan to include parts of Cavite and Cebu province, where Cebu City shifted all public and private levels to non-face-to-face classes.

San Jose del Monte and Municipal Shifts Across Bulacan
San Jose del Monte implemented a full suspension of public and private classes at all levels alongside a suspension of work in government offices, newsinfo.inquirer.net noted. Meanwhile, seven other Bulacan municipalities opted to shift their learning modalities rather than cancel school entirely.
Balagtas, Bocaue, Bulakan, Guiguinto, Malolos, Meycauayan, and Obando suspended in-person classes and shifted students to alternative delivery modes of learning for the duration of the water interruption.
Service Restoration and Facility Restart Scheduled
Utility crews scheduled the maintenance and facility shutdown to run from Tuesday through Wednesday, setting up service restoration once repair works conclude on October 14, 2026.
