Bulgaria Election Poll: 5 Parties Projected to Enter Parliament
Five political formations are poised to enter the next Bulgarian parliament, according to data from a sociological survey conducted by Trend poll agency, as reported by BTA.
The survey, carried out between February 17-24, 2026, involved 1010 adult citizens. Information was gathered through in-home interviews and questionnaires.
Yuri Pavlov, director of Trend, stated that a higher voter turnout is expected on April 19 – 68%. He noted that around 35% of respondents have already decided who they will vote for. Another 33% intend to vote but haven’t yet made a decision. A further 14% are undecided, while the remainder do not plan to vote.
The political formation associated with outgoing President Rumen Radev is currently projected to come first, with 33.7% support. GERB-SDS follows in second place with 18.9%. “Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” (CC-DB) is in third position with 13.2% support. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms – New Beginning (MRF–New Beginning) is securing 10.3% support. Vazrazhdane is also expected to gain parliamentary representation with 8.1%.
The Bulgarian Socialist Party – United Left (BSP) with 3.6%, MECh (Morality, Unity, Honour) with 3.5%, Velichie with 1.2%, There Is Such a People with 1.2%, and the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms with 0.5% support are currently below the threshold for parliamentary representation.
The findings align with earlier surveys. A poll by Myara agency conducted between February 9-15, 2026, also indicated a likely scenario of five parties entering parliament, with two others close to the 4% threshold. Another survey by Market Links last week similarly placed a formation involving Rumen Radev in the lead among likely voters.
According to the Trend survey, the expected turnout represents an increase compared to previous elections. Approximately 59% of all eligible Bulgarian voters residing in the country intend to exercise their right to vote, with an estimated 3.1 million voters expected to participate on April 19.
The upcoming elections were triggered by the need for a new government following [information not available in sources – omitted]. The results of the April 19 vote will be crucial in determining the future political landscape of Bulgaria and the direction of the country’s policies.
The contest for third place remains particularly tight, with CC-DB and MRF–New Beginning vying for position. The performance of the BSP and MECh will be closely watched to see if they can overcome the 4% barrier and secure representation in the National Assembly.
The strong showing of the formation linked to Rumen Radev suggests continued public support for the outgoing president’s policies and vision for Bulgaria. His political future remains a key factor in the country’s political dynamics.
