Exchange Workshop on Genetically Modified Cotton in Burkina Faso
The Burkin Interprofessional Cotton Association (AICB) and the INERA cotton program are co-organizing an exchange workshop on September 24, 2024, in Bobo-Dioulasso. The primary objective of this event is to inform elected officials of cotton producers and their technical-advisory support system to cotton producer organizations (OPC) at all levels.
The workshop aims to provide information on the process of returning to the cultivation of genetically modified cotton, which meets the production needs for commercial cultivation in Burkina Faso. Additionally, it will revisit the reasons that led to the cessation of BT cotton cultivation and take stock of the steps taken and the prospects for a possible return to growing genetically modified cotton varieties.
