EXCLUSIVE: Hollywood agent Doug Johnson is making ‍a major move, leaving Creative⁣ Artists Agency ⁢(CAA) to join William Morris Endeavor (WME) ⁢as an agent in the non-scripted department. Johnson will begin his ⁢new role in January.

In addition to his focus on non-scripted programming, Johnson will continue to work with clients in the scripted space, particularly in the comedy genre. ⁤several of his high-profile clients are joining him at WME, including Emmy-winning Abbott Elementary creator, ⁢executive producer, and star Quinta Brunson; Saturday Night Live star mikey⁣ Day;⁢ The Masked ⁢Singer host nick Cannon; and ⁤NBA⁤ analyst (and former ‍star) Kenny “The Jet” Smith. More clients are expected to follow suit.

Johnson brings a wealth of experience to WME. Throughout his career, he has successfully navigated both the scripted and non-scripted worlds. at CAA, he was ⁤a member of the non-fiction department while also representing clients as a literary and talent agent.

Prior to⁣ CAA,Johnson‍ honed his skills at several prominent agencies. He began⁤ his career as an agent at United Talent Agency (UTA) in 2009, after a six-year stint at Management 360. in 2011,⁢ he moved to ICM, where he‍ rose through the ranks and became a partner‍ in the motion⁣ picture literary department in 2016. Following ICM Partners’ acquisition by CAA in 2022, Johnson transitioned to the ⁣larger agency.
