CAIS Expands Access to Alternative Investment Models
CAIS has broadened its Models Marketplace, introducing model portfolios from BlackRock, carlyle, Franklin Templeton, and KKR. This move aims to simplify how financial advisors adopt alternative investments.
This expansion marks the first manager-led portfolio models on CAIS, a digital marketplace providing access to private and registered funds. The platform seeks to reduce friction in alternative investments through centralized model construction and automated trade execution.
Each asset manager provides a unique set of model portfolios. BlackRock offers three risk-based, multi-asset portfolios that include private equity and credit funds alongside conventional equities and fixed income. Carlyle introduced three models focused on income, capital preservation, and return enhancement, allocating across its private equity and credit strategies.
Franklin Templeton contributed a multi-manager model providing broad private market exposure, including private credit, infrastructure, real estate, secondaries, co-investments, and asset-backed finance, integrating both its own and third-party managers. KKR rolled out three models emphasizing income, stability, and growth, with exposure to its private equity, credit, infrastructure, and real estate funds.
Neil Blundell, CIO at CAIS Advisors, stated that by packaging alternative investment strategies into a professionally designed solution, advisors can focus more on clients and less on manager selection.
These enhancements address the increasing demand for turnkey alternative allocation tools that deliver institutional-quality exposure without operational complexity. the CAIS marketplace accommodates both subscription-based private placements and publicly registered funds, enhancing usability across various advisor practices.
This growth follows CAIS’s collaboration with Edward Jones, enabling clients with at least $10 million in investable assets to access private market investments through the firm’s Unified Managed Account platform since May 5. The program includes private equity, credit, and real estate offerings.
What’s next
CAIS plans to continue expanding its platform to offer advisors more tools for navigating the alternative investment landscape, focusing on further streamlining access and reducing operational burdens.
