Caitlin Clark Expected to Return for Fever Against Liberty
Updated June 13, 2025
indiana Fever fans may soon see Caitlin Clark back on the court. Coach Stephanie White said Friday that Clark is expected to play in Saturday’s game against the New York Liberty after recovering from a quad strain.
Clark has been sidelined as May 26, missing five games. In her last appearance May 24 against the Liberty, she recorded 18 points and 10 assists in a narrow 90-88 defeat.
“It’s definitely been a process,” Clark said of her recovery, noting the difficulty of returning to game speed while her teammates prepared without her.
White noted Clark’s steady improvement in practice. “She’s working her way back,” White told reporters, adding that clark’s movement and rhythm were improving. She anticipates Clark will be ready if there is no setback.
Sophie Cunningham is also expected to return after an ankle injury that has kept her out of several games. “I think she’s going to be ready to roll as well,” White said, noting cunningham’s good timing and ability to change directions.
I felt like today was better than yesterday in terms of just movement, balance and feeling like she’s getting back into rhythm, timing, all those things. As long as we don’t have any regression, she’s going to be ready to roll.

Saturday’s game will be a challenge,as the Liberty aim to become only the fourth WNBA team to start a season with at least 10 consecutive wins. The 2016 Minnesota Lynx hold the record at 13-0.
However, the Fever will be without DeWanna Bonner, who is away from the team for personal reasons. “She’s doing as well as she can be,” White said, adding that the team will continue to support her.
Indiana is looking to bounce back from a 77-58 loss to the Atlanta Dream, where they shot a season-worst 36.2%.
What’s next
With clark and Cunningham potentially back in the lineup, the Indiana Fever hope to improve their performance and challenge the New york Liberty in Saturday’s game.
