Caitlin Clark Set to Reclaim Her Role with Indiana Fever
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is poised to make her return to the court Saturday against the New York Liberty after missing five games due to a quadriceps injury. Clark punctuated Friday’s practise with a half-court shot, securing bragging rights and a small wager.
Fever coach Stephanie White confirmed that Clark is expected to play, barring any setbacks.The game against the Liberty,the defending WNBA champions with a 9-0 record,will be nationally televised.
“Provided that we don’t have any regressions, she’s going to be ready to roll,” White said.
Clark expressed her excitement about returning, acknowledging the recovery process. “I’m really excited,” Clark said. “I think it’s definitely been a process…working yourself back into actually getting up and down and getting out there with my teammates.”
Before her injury, Clark averaged 19 points, 9.3 assists, six rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. The Fever went 2-3 during her absence. Clark admitted to impatience during her recovery but understood the importance of following the rehabilitation steps, which included massage, weights, and hyperbaric therapy.
