California Woman Found Dead in National Forest; Husband in Custody
A 33-year-old California woman, Sheylla Cabrera, was discovered deceased in Angeles National Forest on August 13th. Her body was found wrapped in a tarp or sheet consistent with material observed in surveillance footage.
Authorities identified Sheylla’s husband, 36-year-old Jossimar Cabrera, as a person of interest after Ring camera footage surfaced showing him dragging a large object, also covered in a similar tarp, away from their home. The Montrose Search and Rescue team located the suspicious material during a search of the forest.
The discovery prompted a homicide examination, and jossimar Cabrera is now in custody. The couple’s three children were initially reported missing but have as been located safe in Peru and are now in protective custody.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office is currently working to determine the cause of Mrs. Cabrera’s death. This is a developing story,and further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
