Phnom Penh – Cambodia’s exports to both the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) experienced double-digit growth during the first eight months of 2025, according to a report released by the Ministry of Commerce on september 16, 2025.
EU Trade Surges
Exports to the EU reached $3.36 billion between January and August 2025, representing a 15% increase compared to $2.9 billion during the same period in 2024. This growth demonstrates the continued importance of the EU market, accounting for 16.1% of Cambodia’s total export volume.
ASEAN Remains Key Market
Trade with ASEAN member states also flourished, with exports totaling $3.98 billion – a 16% rise from $3.43 billion in the previous year. ASEAN represents a significant portion of Cambodia’s trade, contributing 19.1% to the nation’s overall export volume of $20.83 billion for the first eight months of the year.
Diversified Export portfolio
Cambodia’s export success is built on a diverse range of products. Key exports to the EU include apparel, textiles, footwear, travel goods, bags, bicycles, car tires, and electronic devices. Increasingly, agricultural products like rice, cashew nuts, cassava starch, and bananas are also gaining traction in the european market.
Exports to ASEAN are similarly varied, focusing on garments, shoes, travel goods, bags, car tires, electronics, and a broad range of agricultural commodities.
