A fight scheduled for UFC 324 has been cancelled after American fighter Cameron Smotherman collapsed during weigh-ins on Friday, according to the UFC.
Smotherman, 28, was slated to face fellow American Ricky Turcios in a bout on the undercard of the Paddy Pimblett versus Justin Gaethje fight in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The incident occurred at T-Mobile Arena after Smotherman successfully registered a weight of 135.5lbs. He reportedly took several steps away from the scale before collapsing. UFC officials and medical personnel immediately attended to him.
The UFC released a statement confirming the cancellation of the bout due to a medical issue affecting Smotherman. As of January 23, 2026, no further details regarding Smotherman’s condition have been released.
