Former Grambling State Basketball Player Cameron Woodall Dies in ATV Accident
Cameron Woodall, 26, a former Grambling state Tigers basketball player, died Saturday in an ATV accident in Raymond, Miss., according to hinds County Sheriff Tyree D. jones. The hinds County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m. were Woodall was pronounced dead.
Another ATV driver sustained minor injuries and was hospitalised. The accident remains under examination,Jones said.
Woodall played 11 games for Grambling State during the 2020-21 season, averaging 8.4 points and 2.5 rebounds. He also competed at Copiah-Lincoln Community College before transferring to Tougaloo College.
At Tougaloo College (NAIA Division I), Woodall earned second-team All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference honors twice, according to his social media.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the untimely passing of Cameron D. ‘Big Cam’ Woodall… Cam left an indelible mark on the Tougaloo family,” Tougaloo athletics wrote in a social media post.
Tougaloo athletics added, “His impact extended far beyond basketball; he was a freind, a brother, and a true Bulldog through and through. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
Woodall also helped Raymond High School secure consecutive MHSAA 4A state championships in 2017 and 2018.
