The ⁢international⁤ Olympic Committee (IOC) has appointed Hong Kong’s Camille Cheng Lily-mei, a three-time Olympian, as one of its first mental health⁢ ambassadors. This ⁣recognizes⁣ her dedication too mental health advocacy beyond her athletic achievements.

earlier this month, Cheng traveled to Lausanne, Switzerland, to participate in the IOC Consensus Meeting on Mental Health for Elite Athletes. She was invited to represent Asia as a female representative.

The IOC’s new mental health ambassador programme aims to prioritize athletes’ experiences in⁢ addressing mental health challenges within elite sports.

Cheng is also the co-founder of Mind the Waves, a mental health charity based⁤ in​ Hong kong.
