Cam’ron Details Lawsuit: J. Cole Accused of Broken Promises & 0K Dispute

Cam’ron Details Lawsuit: J. Cole Accused of Broken Promises & $500K Dispute

February 13, 2026 Robert Mitchell - News Editor of Newsdirectory3.com News

Cam’ron has finally addressed the lawsuit he filed against J. Cole, attributing the legal action to a series of unfulfilled promises spanning several years.

The Harlem rapper, whose real name is Cameron Giles, initiated the suit in October 2025 over their collaboration on the track “Ready ‘24,” which appeared on Cole’s 2024 mixtape, Might Delete Later. According to court documents, Cam’ron alleges that Cole promised either a feature on one of his own songs or an appearance on his popular “This proves What It Is” podcast in exchange for Cam’ron’s contribution to “Ready ‘24.”

Shortly after the lawsuit became public, Cam’ron remained tight-lipped about the specifics during an episode of his “Talk With Flee” podcast, offering only that he believed J. Cole would “definitely be a rap legend.” Co-host Sen City repeatedly attempted to elicit a more detailed explanation, but Cam’ron offered little beyond his initial assessment.

However, during the episode on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Cam’ron provided a more comprehensive account of the events leading to the legal dispute. He explained that he initially agreed to appear on both “Ready ‘24” and Cole’s 2021 track “9 5 . S o u t h” with the understanding that Cole would reciprocate the favor at a later date. He claimed Cole began to stall when it came time to fulfill his end of the agreement.

“I’m exaggerating, but he’s like, ‘The chakra ain’t right right now. The moon not aligned with the stars, and when I write, I put my all into it,’” Cam’ron recounted, jokingly mimicking Cole’s alleged response. “Okay, let’s put your all into it.”

Cam’ron further stated that he quickly delivered his verse for “Ready ‘24,” completing it in approximately 20 minutes. When the promised verse or podcast appearance didn’t materialize, Cam’ron proposed an interview with Cole as an alternative. However, Cole reportedly offered a series of excuses for delaying the conversation, citing the ongoing public feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, as well as delays surrounding the release of his album, The Fall-Off.

“He said, ‘I can’t do it now because I don’t feel like talking about [Lamar] right now.’ I said, ‘Look, I’ll do the interview. I won’t even bring that up.’ He says, ‘Nah, I can’t do no interview and not talk about it,’” Cam’ron explained.

Frustrated by the repeated delays and perceived lack of commitment, Cam’ron ultimately filed the lawsuit, seeking at least $500,000 in damages, as well as co-writer credit for his contributions to “Ready ‘24.”

As of February 13, 2026, J. Cole has not publicly responded to Cam’ron’s claims.
