Canada Border Services Agency Adjusts Crossing Hours for Enhanced Security

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will change the hours for many border crossings starting at 12:01 AM local time on January 6. These changes are made with the U.S. to improve security.

CBSA plans to use its resources effectively by assigning officers to busier crossing points. Most crossings see only two or fewer vehicles or commercial trucks per hour during the affected times. Additionally, travelers can use another crossing within a 100 km distance.

All times are local. The new hours apply seven days a week, unless stated otherwise.

Alberta

• Del Bonita: 9 AM – 5 PM

British Columbia

• Cascade: 8 AM – 8 PM
• Nelway: 8 AM – 6 PM

Manitoba

• Cartwright: 8 AM – 4 PM
• Coulter: 8 AM – 4 PM for travelers; commercial hours are 8 AM – 4 PM except weekends and holidays
• Crystal City: 9 AM – 5 PM
• Goodlands: 9 AM – 5 PM
• Gretna: 8 AM – 6 PM
• Lena: 8 AM – 4 PM for travelers; commercial hours are 8 AM – 4 PM except weekends and holidays
• Piney: 9 AM – 5 PM
• Snowflake: 9 AM – 5 PM
• South Junction: 8 AM – 8 PM
• Tolstoi: 8 AM – 6 PM
• Windygates: 9 AM – 5 PM
• Winkle: 8 AM – 8 PM

Quebec

• Chartierville: 8 AM – 8 PM
• Clarenceville: 8 AM – 4 PM

• Bloomfield: For travelers: 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday to Saturday (excluding holidays); for commercial: 9 AM – 5 PM Monday to Friday (excluding holidays)
• Gillespie Portage: 7 AM – 7 PM
• Fosterville: 8 AM – 8 PM from the last Monday in May to the first Monday in September; 8 AM – 6 PM for the rest of the year.
• St. Croix: For travelers: 9 AM – 9 PM; for commercial: 9 AM – 5 PM, except weekends.

Saskatchewan

• Carievale: 8 AM – 6 PM from the second Sunday of March to the first Saturday of November; 9 AM – 7 PM for the rest of the year.
• Estevan Highway: 8 AM – 6 PM from the second Sunday of March to the first Saturday of November; 9 AM – 7 PM for the rest of the year.
• Monchy: For travelers: 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday to Friday, from the second Sunday of March to the first Saturday of November; 10 AM – 6 PM for the rest of the year; commercial hours are the same as travelers during the first period.
• Northgate: For travelers: 8 AM – 4 PM from the second Sunday of March to the first Saturday of November; 9 AM – 5 PM for the rest of the year; commercial hours are the same as travelers during the first period.
• Oungre: 8 AM – 6 PM from the second Sunday of March to the first Saturday of November; 9 AM – 7 PM for the rest of the year.
• West Poplar River: 9 AM – 5 PM from the second Sunday of March to the first Saturday of November; 10 AM – 6 PM for the rest of the year; commercial hours are the same as travelers during the first period.
