INCHEON, South Korea – The Incheon ‍Area Cancer survivors Integrated ‌Support Center, ⁤under the direction of CEO Choi ⁤Soo-jeong and operated by⁤ Gachon University Gil Hospital (Director Kim Woo-kyung), is now accepting⁣ applications for its 2025 ⁤forest ‍healing program. The program is ⁢a ⁣collaboration‌ with the Incheon Grand ‍Park Office (CEO Lim ‌Sang-kyun) and is designed for cancer survivors and, new for this year, their families.

as 2023, ⁣the incheon Cancer Survivor Integrated​ Support center has partnered⁤ with Incheon Grand Park⁤ to⁢ provide forest healing programs.

The⁤ program aims to ‌address the physical ‌and emotional challenges faced by cancer survivors post-treatment, utilizing the therapeutic properties of⁤ forests.It focuses on fostering psychological recovery in a serene, natural environment and promoting overall physical well-being.

Last year, the Incheon Cancer Survivor Integrated⁢ Support Center and Incheon Grand Park conducted a total of ‍32 sessions between May and june, and again in September and October.

Thirty cancer survivors,selected through​ advance registration,were ⁢divided into two⁤ groups,participating in the program weekly for approximately two months. Activities included exploring Incheon ⁣Grand Park’s forest trails, creating natural nameplates, lymphatic massage, “wind baths,” mind-muscle strengthening exercises, fatigue mapping,⁣ barefoot walking, and restorative sleep yoga.

A satisfaction survey conducted after⁤ the program revealed a high level of participant satisfaction, with an average score of 4.8 out of 5.

Family Inclusion in 2025 Program

Based on⁣ positive feedback and participant suggestions, this year’s program expands to include ‍family members of cancer survivors. The goal is to‌ alleviate the difficulties ⁤experienced‍ by families during the cancer treatment‌ process through the benefits of forest healing.

The ​2025 program, themed “Goodbye ⁤Fatigue,” will consist of eight sessions per team, held in ⁤the ⁤first half (may-June) and second‍ half of the year. Currently, the⁢ center is recruiting 45 participants (15 teams⁣ per session) for ⁤the first half of the program.
