Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Terence “Bud” Crawford will meet in Las Vegas on Sept. 13, battling for Alvarez’s undisputed super middleweight championship. The highly anticipated Alvarez vs. Crawford fight will be available on Netflix,according to an official announcement.
The news follows speculation about potential locations,dates and promoters. TKO, which owns WWE and UFC, will promote the event with Turki Alalshikh, Riyadh season and Sela.
Dana White of TKO expressed enthusiasm for promoting the boxing match.”Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley,” White said. “Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It’s literally a once-in-a-lifetime fight.”
Momentum for Alvarez vs. Crawford began in 2023 after Crawford’s victory over Errol Spence Jr. Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) then defeated Israil Madrimov to win the WBA junior middleweight title. Now,crawford will jump from 154 pounds to 168 pounds to challenge Alvarez (62-2-2,39 KOs),a champion in multiple weight classes.
