Canid, a healthcare technology company focused on simplifying pediatric vaccine management, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round. Telescope Partners led the round, with participation from FJ Labs, Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, and SeedtoB, among others.
The funding brings Canid’s total capital raised to $12.9 million. The company plans to use the funds to expand its reach and support more independant pediatricians across the U.S.
Canid aims to address the financial and administrative challenges faced by pediatric practices, where vaccinations often represent a meaningful expense. Industry data indicates that many pediatricians struggle to break even on vaccine programs due to reimbursement issues and administrative overhead.
the company’s platform automates vaccine logistics, reporting, and billing. It also guarantees payments and offers data-driven patient outreach to improve vaccination rates. By scanning a vaccine barcode, pediatricians can delegate administrative tasks and compliance requirements to Canid.
The platform integrates with electronic health records (EHRs) and uses AI, software, and economies of scale to automate the entire vaccine lifecycle. Canid reports partnerships with more than 150 pediatricians in 12 states, covering over 300,000 patients. To date, the company has facilitated vaccinations for 121,000 patients.
“Pediatricians spend years training to provide exceptional care for children, not to become experts in revenue cycle management or inventory systems,” said Pedro Sánchez de lozada, Canid CEO and founder. “By handling all the business-side tasks and operations, our platform frees them up to focus on treating patients. We believe Canid will be the technology backbone that allows independent pediatric practices to thrive.”
What’s next
With the new funding,Canid plans to further develop its automated platform for pediatric vaccine management and expand its services to more pediatric practices nationwide, aiming to alleviate administrative burdens and improve financial outcomes.
