Canyon Enters the Wheel Market with GR30 CF Gravel Wheelset

Canyon Bicycles has expanded its product line beyond bikes, introducing its frist in-house designed carbon wheelset, the GR30 CF, aimed at the gravel riding market. These wheels will be available for standalone purchase and will also come standard on select 2025 Canyon Grizl gravel bike models.
A New Chapter for Canyon
According to Maxime Brunand, Canyon’s Senior Product Manager, this launch marks “a new chapter” for the company. Canyon aims to leverage its extensive cycling knowledge to create high-performance products that seamlessly integrate with their bikes.
To ensure quality, Canyon has invested in building its own testing facilities at its production centers. Currently, the GR30 CF wheelset is not yet available for purchase in the US market.
GR30 CF Wheelset Details
The GR30 CF wheelset features a 30mm deep rim with a wide 27mm internal and 33mm external width. The hookless rim design is optimized for modern gravel tires. Canyon claims a total weight of 1,525g per set (715g front, 810g rear, including rim tape).
These wheels are built with DT Swiss 350 Spline hubs, known for their reliability and performance. Canyon also utilizes DT Swiss Aerocomp straight-pull spokes for enhanced strength and aerodynamics.
Compatibility and Features
The GR30 CF wheels come pre-installed with a Shimano Micro Spline freehub, ensuring compatibility with Shimano GRX 1×12-speed groupsets. A SRAM XDR freehub body is also included for tool-free conversion to SRAM cassettes.Tubeless valves are included as well.
To simplify tire setup, the rims feature printed guidelines for tire width compatibility and recommended pressure ranges. The GR30 CF wheels are compatible with gravel tires up to 54mm wide. The rim tape even includes recommended sealant volume markings.
Pricing and Availability
The Canyon GR30 CF wheels are priced at £859.95 / €899 per set, positioning them competitively within the gravel wheel market. They will also be featured on the Canyon Grizl CF 8 Di2 and Canyon Grizl CF 9 Escape gravel bikes.
