Canyon’s New Unreleased Endurace: Redefining All-Road Bikes

Canyon is currently testing a new, unreleased version of its Endurace bike with the Alpecin-Premier Tech team during the cobbled classics. The new model represents a shift in the design philosophy of the brand’s endurance line, moving toward a more aero-centric approach to compete in the Belgian classics.

Mathieu van der Poel utilized the unreleased Endurace to secure a victory at the E3 Saxo Classic. However, the rider did not use the bike for the entirety of the classics campaign.

Van der Poel transitioned back to the Canyon Aeroad for the Tour of Flanders and for In Flanders Fields, a race formerly known as Gent-Wevelgem.

A Shift Toward Aero-Endurance

The new Endurace is a clear departure from the concept of previous iterations of the model. While the Endurace has long been positioned as a classic endurance bike centered on rider comfort, its successor is designed with a racing pedigree.

The redesign comes as the cobbled classics have increasingly become the domain of all-out aero setups over the last decade. To meet this demand, the new Endurace incorporates significant design cues from the Aeroad.

Reporting from BikeRadar on March 25, 2026, identified the prototype as an aero-optimised Canyon Endurace CFR.

Technical Design Changes

The bike’s construction indicates that aerodynamics are now prioritized alongside comfort. The front end of the frame features a stretched-out head tube and large fork profiles, which are designed to allow air to flow around the front of the bike as efficiently as possible.

Additional aerodynamic refinements are visible on the frame’s downtube. The tube widens around the top of the bottle cage, a feature intended to help redirect airflow around the water bottles to reduce drag.

These modifications suggest that Canyon is pushing all-road bikes in a new direction, blending the stability and comfort of an endurance frame with the speed characteristics of a dedicated aero road bike.
