Capello Warns Milan: Stop Exasperated Offside Against Juventus’ Vlahovic
Fabio Capello advises AC Milan to improve their defense in the upcoming Serie A match against Juventus. He believes Milan must avoid “exasperated offside” tactics that could allow Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic to exploit space effectively.

As AC Milan prepares to face Juventus in a crucial Serie A match at San Siro, footballing legend Fabio Capello offers his expert insights into the strategies Milan must adopt to secure a victory. With the kick-off scheduled for 18:00 CET, every second counts in a game that holds significant implications for both teams in the race for the Scudetto.
Interviewer: Fabio, you’ve had an illustrious career managing both AC Milan and Juventus. What should Milan focus on to improve their chances against Juventus?
Fabio Capello: The key for Milan will be tightening their defense. They must avoid relying on what I call “exasperated offside” tactics. Juventus possesses a striker like Dusan Vlahovic, who thrives on exploiting spaces behind the defense. Milan’s backline needs to be acutely aware of where he is, rather than just focusing on the ball in the penalty area.
Interviewer: You note that the game carries substantial weight for Milan. Why do you think that is?
Capello: This match is pivotal for both teams, but especially for AC Milan. A loss could see them fall behind significantly in the Scudetto race, particularly with Juventus being unbeaten this season. A win would signify strength and send a clear message to the league about Milan’s ambitions.
Interviewer: Milan’s form has been inconsistent lately, with a significant win against Real Madrid followed by a surprising draw with Cagliari. What are your thoughts on this inconsistency?
Capello: The inconsistency stems largely from defensive lapses. The defenders need to concentrate more on their opponents and maintain a solid structure throughout the match. The mixed results can often be traced back to how well they handle their duties in defense.
Interviewer: Looking ahead, are there any potential player signings you believe could bolster Milan’s squad?
Capello: Yes, I’ve been impressed with Reijnders and Koopmeiners for their skills on the ball. They have the potential to make significant contributions to the team’s dynamics. Additionally, I see great promise in Rafael Leao and Francisco Conceiçao; they could complement each other very well on the field.
Interviewer: what is your final message to the Milan squad as they head into this critical fixture?
Capello: Focus on the defense and ensure that tactical awareness is at the forefront of their play. This match will not just be about skill, but about discipline and strategy. If they get that right, they can emerge victorious against a formidable Juventus side.
As the clock ticks down to the highly anticipated clash, Milan fans will be hoping Capello’s insights guide their team to a much-needed victory. The stakes are high, and every play could be pivotal in the pursuit of glory this season.
When asked about player signings, Capello mentions Reijnders and Koopmeiners for their football skills. He also praises both Rafael Leao and Francisco Conceiçao, suggesting they could complement each other on the field.
Overall, Capello’s insights underline the critical nature of defense and tactical awareness for Milan as they prepare to face a formidable Juventus side.
