Capital City Clash: Tokyo Verdy Set to Face Off in Thrilling Matchup
Match Preview: Tokyo Verdy vs Sagan Tosu
Growth is Our Weapon
Tokyo Verdy has climbed to 6th place in the standings, their highest ranking of the season, after securing their first three consecutive wins. This achievement is a testament to their growth and determination to stay in the league.
In their previous match against Sapporo, Verdy played a quiet game, with few scoring opportunities. However, they stepped up their game in the second half, aiming for the three points. A through ball from Suzuki Musashi ended with a shot from Yoshinari Komai, but Matheus made an exceptional save to prevent it.
Verdy’s defense reacted well to Sapporo’s long balls, and in the middle of the second half, the attacking team counterattacked several times. The attitude of everyone to give their all was reflected in the results. Yuta Matsumura scored his long-awaited first goal since arriving at Verdy, securing a 2-0 win.
Yuto Tsunashima expressed his desire to win, saying, “The atmosphere at Ajista is fantastic, and the fans and supporters have the power to motivate the players. I am really happy to be able to play there. I will do anything for the fans and supporters who come to see us in large numbers, we want to get three points and win four games in a row.”
Sagan Tosu, on the other hand, had a fierce battle against Kawasaki F in their previous match. Despite leveling the score twice, they ultimately lost 3-2. Tosu has now lost three in a row and has not won in eight games.
Verdy’s coach, Matthäus, is aware of the possibility that Tosu may use power play in the final stages of the game. However, he is confident in his team’s ability to respond well to the second ball and keep the first and second lines compact.
With a specific image in mind, Verdy is motivated and well-prepared for the upcoming match. They aim to extend their winning streak and secure another three points.
