Super Typhoon Capricorn Update: Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 Issued
As of 6 p.m., Super Typhoon Capricorn is located approximately 340 kilometers south of Hong Kong, with sustained winds of about 210 kilometers per hour. The typhoon is expected to move west-northwest at a speed of about 15 kilometers per hour, passing near the Leizhou Peninsula to Hainan Island area.
According to current forecasts, Capricorn will maintain super typhoon intensity and pass about 300 kilometers southwest of Hong Kong early tomorrow morning. The gale area related to Capricorn is expected to affect the Pearl River Estuary area from tonight to tomorrow morning.
