Captured and Exposed: A Rare Glimpse of Russian Tanks Seized by Ukraine in the Kursk Campaign
Ukrainian Army Captures Seven Russian Tanks in Kursk Border Region
In a significant military operation, the Ukrainian army has captured seven Russian tanks of various types in the Kursk border region, including the advanced T-90M tank.
Recent images published by Ukrainian media reveal the successful operation by Ukraine’s 80th Airborne Brigade, which resulted in the capture of a total of seven tanks from the Russian forces.
The captured tanks include one T-90M tank, four T-80 BVM tanks, and two T-72 tanks. These tanks will be repaired and subsequently used against the Russian forces.
According to a member of the 80th Brigade, the two T-72 tanks are in the worst condition, having been overworked. The Ukrainian forces are focusing on restoring them to operational condition.
One officer, Bohdan, expressed his excitement at capturing a Russian tank, a T-80 BVM, near the town of Sudzha in the early days of the border campaign.
The T-90M tank was captured during a raid on the Russian rear in Kursk. The Russian forces attempted to withdraw the tank but were unable to do so due to a dead battery.
A member of the 80th Brigade shared that the T-90M tank was nicknamed “Pirozhok” (pie), but its complicated control system made it unpopular among the troops.
