Car Fleeing Burglary Crashes into Two Vehicles

Three individuals were arrested on Sunday afternoon following a burglary south of Auckland and a subsequent high-speed pursuit with police.
Burglary and Initial Escape
Police responded to a burglary at a business located on Great South Road in Drury at approximately 5:00 PM. according to police reports, the three suspects fled the scene in a waiting vehicle.
Dramatic Police Chase
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspects evaded them at high speed. The vehicle crashed into another car while leaving Drury and subsequently collided with a bus on Scott Road in Papakura.
“Miraculously, nobody was hurt,” a police spokesperson stated.
Pursuit and Apprehension
The vehicle’s movements were tracked by the Police Eagle helicopter as it traveled north on State Highway One. Authorities reported the vehicle reached speeds one-and-a-half times over the legal limit at various points during the chase along Auckland’s Northern Motorway.
The vehicle came to a stop on the motorway, north of the Puhoi Road off-ramp, shortly before 6:00 PM. All occupants were taken into police custody, and charges are pending.
