Car & Motorcycle Collision Blocks Road Near Vranov nad Topľou – Injuries Reported
A motorcycle and car collision on Saturday afternoon in eastern Slovakia, in the Vranov nad Topľou district, has left one person injured and a key roadway blocked.
The incident occurred on Road I/15 near Sedliská, heading towards Benkovce, rendering the route impassable in both directions, according to a post from Zelená vlna STVR. Motorists are advised to take an alternate route through Ondavské Matiašovce.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. A duty officer from the Fire and Rescue Service of the Prešov region confirmed to regiony.sk that one person sustained injuries in the crash. The accident took place on a first-class road that traverses the Vranov nad Topľou and Stropkov districts.
Firefighters provided initial medical assistance to the injured individual before the arrival of paramedics, who then transported the person to a hospital for further evaluation. Fire crews stabilized the vehicle involved and took measures to prevent fire or leakage of fluids. A crane from the Rescue Brigade of the Fire and Rescue Service in Humenné was required to remove the vehicle.
Six firefighters from Vranov nad Topľou and the Rescue Brigade from Humenné, utilizing two fire engines, were involved in the response.
