Caravan Bankruptcy: Prices Surge 200% – Company Files for Bankruptcy
Salty Blue Files for Insolvency,But Continues Operations
Salty Blue Campers,a company specializing in van conversions for vehicles like the Ford Transit and VW Transporter (installing features like seating, kitchen units, and roof tents),has filed for preliminary insolvency proceedings. This was announced on their website, stating, “we had to file for bankruptcy.” Despite this, the company intends to continue working, with plans to update customers shortly after consulting with the provisional insolvency administrator.
The bankruptcy stems from a combination of lower demand and substantially increased costs – some parts have reportedly become 200% more expensive in recent years, according to the insolvency administrator.
To navigate the situation, the company is asking customers if they can pay in advance, with those payments being applied to the total cost, helping to finance necessary components.Salty Blue currently has 60 outstanding orders. The company’s 18 employees are also reportedly seeking ways to support their employer through this challenging time.
