Cardinals Shine at Mideast Regional: Ager Fifth, Team Seventh, Three Earn All-Region Honors

Wesleyan Women’s Cross Country Team Excels at NCAA Mideast Regional Championships
WATERFORD, CT – The Wesleyan women’s cross country team achieved another strong result at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships. The team placed seventh out of 24 schools, marking their fifth consecutive year in the Top 10.
Stephanie Ager ’26 led the Cardinals with an impressive fifth-place finish. She clocked in at 21:12.50, earning All-Region and All-New England honors for the third straight year. The top five teams included Williams, RPI, Amherst, Vassar, and Middlebury. Williams won the championships with a total of 59 points, while RPI’s Jules Bleskoski won the individual race in 20:47.30.
Chase Cerrell ’28 also shined by finishing 23rd, achieving her first All-Region and All-New England honors with a personal best time of 22:08.70. Alexandra Simon ’27 followed close behind in 34th place with a time of 22:37.00, earning her first All-Region accolade.
The Cardinals had additional success, with four runners placing in the Top 100. Jordan Walter ’25 finished 36th in 22:38.10. Virginia Lessner ’28 was 59th with a time of 23:05.50, while Margaret Stevens ’28 placed 63rd, timing her race at 23:13.20. Alexandra Weingard ’28 rounded out the team in 87th place with a finish of 23:53.30.
The team is set to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday, November 23, in Terre Haute, IN.
