Caribou release new song “Come Find Me” with music video from upcoming album | NME Japan

Caribou have released a new song, “Come Find Me,” off their upcoming album, along with a music video.

The new song “Come Find Me” will be included on her sixth album, “Honey,” which will be released on October 4th.

Speaking about “Come Find Me,” Dan Snaith said: “I love this kind of chord sequence and French touch vibe, but it took me ages to find the right vocal hook and breakdown to make it more pop and concise. When I play it in a DJ set, with just the vocals and then it suddenly comes flooding back in, and people in the audience have such an emotional, euphoric reaction, even though they’ve probably never heard the song before. That’s always the best litmus test that a song is coming together in the right way.”

Caribou continues about the new album: “One thing that hasn’t changed for me since the beginning is my mad curiosity about what can be made from sound. Not what so-called ‘professionals’ with loads of collaborators and resources at their disposal can make from sound, but me in my little basement studio. I have more equipment than before, but it’s basically the same as before.”

“Chasing that thrill of when something hits really hard and you find yourself jumping, the hair on your arms standing on end with excitement. I feel so lucky that that hasn’t gone away. The chance to create something new and exciting is still as exhilarating as ever. And it’s still as fun as ever. I start the day with nothing (and most days it ends with nothing, but sometimes…) and by the end of the day something has stuck in my head that wasn’t there before. It still feels like a kind of alchemy to me.”

Caribou will appear at Asagiri JAM’24 in October and will also perform a solo concert in Japan.
