Carina Lau posted screenshots to her Weibo account showing a health product advertisement featuring Tony Leung’s likeness alongside a prominent ”Tmall Double 11″ logo.She questioned whether this constituted a serious infringement and deceptive practice, directly asking Taobao and Tmall if this was part of their marketing strategy.

Another image shared by Lau showed the product being promoted with leung’s image.

Merchant Claims Sponsorship
According to DoNews, a fan inquired with the merchant’s customer service regarding the use of Leung’s image. The customer service representative reportedly claimed the merchant had sponsored a program and therefore had the right to use his image.

Taobao’s Response and Product Removal
As of November 10, 2025, Taobao had not issued a public response to Carina Lau’s allegations. however,DoNews reported that the promotional image featuring Tony Leung had been removed from the platform.
