WWE Releases Carlito, R-Truth Amid Budget concerns

WWE‍ has parted ways wiht veteran performers Carlito and R-Truth, reportedly due to financial constraints. The decisions were made by WWE ⁢Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” levesque as part of an effort to optimize the roster⁢ and reduce expenses.

Both Carlito and⁢ R-Truth confirmed their WWE departures ⁢via social media. Carlito, who rejoined WWE in October 2023 as part of the LWO, had recently been involved with The Judgment Day on RAW. R-Truth, known for his comedic timing and contributions to the 24/7 Championship era, has been a long-time fan favorite.

Dave Meltzer discussed the situation, stating that the WWE releases were “budget-related” and a direct result of Levesque’s roster evaluation. WWE is⁣ focused on “how⁤ many ⁣do we have to cut, or how much money do we have to ⁤cut?” Meltzer said.

“they’re numbers.They’re looking at the numbers, and they’re looking at how many do we have to cut, or how much money do we have to cut? And those were the picks. those were the Levesque picks. And that’s what it is indeed,”

Meltzer added that WWE likely doesn’t foresee a significant ‍loss with Carlito’s departure,given his limited role in major storylines. While acknowledging R-Truth’s comedic value, the company still opted to release him.
