Gardai,the Irish police force,responded to reports of a firearm discharge at the shopping center shortly after 6:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a white Irish male. Authorities believe the man’s wounds were self-inflicted. The army explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team has been requested to examine the scene.

Ireland’s Justice Minister jim O’Callaghan called the event a ”really shocking incident.”

Simon Harris, Ireland’s deputy leader, expressed his concern, particularly for the injured child and witnesses.”I understand a young child has been hurt and I join with people across our country in thinking of them and their family tonight,” Harris stated. ”I am also thinking of all those who witnessed this situation and the awful shock and upset it must have caused them.”
