HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Fighting Saints basketball teams are set to conclude their 2025-26 regular season home schedule this weekend, hosting Frontier Conference rivals Providence and Montana State University-Northern in a pair of doubleheaders at the PE Center. The women’s games are slated to tip off at 5 p.m. Each night, followed by the men’s contests at 7 p.m.
Both the Carroll men and women find themselves in a tight race for positioning in the upcoming Frontier Conference Championship. Currently, both teams are tied for second place in the league standings with identical 14-4 conference records. A strong finish over the final four games of the regular season is crucial for both squads as they aim for top seeds in the tournament and potential berths in the NAIA Championships next month.
The Carroll women (16-8 14-4 conference) are tied with Montana Tech for second place, trailing only Dakota State (16-6) by two games. Postseason seeding will be determined by conference record, head-to-head results, and then head-to-head results against conference leaders. The Saints hold a 1-1 record against Dakota State, Montana Tech, and Rocky Mountain College, and will look to secure season series victories against the University of Providence and MSU-Northern this weekend.
This week, the Carroll women re-entered the NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top-25 Poll, landing at No. 25 nationally. They will attempt to extend a 20-game winning streak against MSU-Northern, a streak dating back to January 2020.
On the men’s side, the Fighting Saints (16-7 14-4 conference) are tied with Bellevue University for second place, two games behind Rocky Mountain College. Bellevue holds a tiebreaker advantage over Carroll due to two wins in their season series.
For the second consecutive week, and sixth time this season, a Carroll men’s player has been named the Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Sophomore Kellen Harrison of Bozeman, Montana, earned his fourth DPOTW honor after recording six steals against Dakota State.
The last time the Saints faced the University of Providence, standout guard Isaiah Crane of Portland, Oregon, delivered a historic performance, matching a 55-year-old program record with 48 points on an incredibly efficient 18-for-20 shooting night. Crane currently ranks third in the league in scoring, averaging 19.5 points per game, and recently became the 40th member of the Carroll men’s basketball 1,000-point club.
On Saturday, the Carroll men will seek to avenge an earlier loss to MSU-Northern, who defeated the Saints 89-73 in Havre last month.
Saturday’s games will serve as Senior Night for six Carroll student-athletes: Isabelle Erickson, Willa Albrecht, Meagan Karstetter, Ava Oakland (women’s basketball), and Lorence Dela Cruz and Aidan McGarvin (men’s basketball). These seniors will be honored for their contributions to their respective programs between the women’s and men’s games.
Fans can tune in to the action live on Rewind 94.9 FM in Helena, with coverage provided by Voice of the Saints, Stewart Davis, and Carroll Hall of Famer, Gary Turcott. A live stream will also be available here.
All four games will be streamed live and broadcast throughout Montana, Northern Idaho, and Eastern Washington on SWX affiliates.
