“Cartmel racecourse can confirm that during the third race of today’s meeting a horse experienced a veterinary issue that caused it to deviate from the course,where it came into contact with a number of racegoers,” read a statement released by the racecourse.
Emergency medical personnel responded swiftly, and two individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of thier injuries is currently unknown.
