The law firm Almeida Castro, Castro e Turbay Advogados announced on May 11, 2026, that it has ceased its representation of the senator in the inquiry. The decision was confirmed by attorney Antônio Carlos Almeida Castro, known as Kakay, who stated that the move was made by mutual agreement with the parliamentarian.
Federal Police Operation
The change in legal counsel follows a search and seizure warrant executed by the Federal Police at Nogueira’s residence in Brasília on May 7, 2026.

The investigation is currently proceeding within the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and focuses on a suspected relationship between the senator and banker Daniel Vorcaro regarding financial and political interests linked to Banco Master.
Investigation Details
According to a Federal Police report submitted to the STF, investigators suspect that Senator Nogueira acted in defense of the business group’s interests while serving in Congress.
The Federal Police investigation alleges that the senator received patrimonial and economic advantages in exchange for maintaining a favorable political dialogue with the bank.
The law firm of Kakay provided few details regarding the departure, stating only that they will no longer act in the case.
