Sharon Horgan, the Bafta-winning co-creator and star of Channel 4’s comedy series Catastrophe, recently recounted a near-disastrous on-camera gaffe that almost made it into the show’s final cut. The series, which aired for four seasons, featured Horgan and Rob Delaney as a couple navigating an unexpected pregnancy after a fling in London. Horgan and Delaney also shared writing duties.

Horgan recalled a scene featuring American actress Michaela Watkins, who played Delaney’s sister. During the editing process, thay noticed Horgan mouthing Watkins’ lines in the background. “Obviously in my head I was thinking, like, this is how it should be done, or, this is how we heard it. But we saw that just before we locked it,” Horgan said.
Reflecting on her working relationship with Delaney,Horgan noted the pair sometimes arrived on set with scripts barely finished. ”We’d be on set, standing opposite each other, going, why the f*** did we write another sex scene? This is terrible,” she said.
