Born in Strokestown, County roscommon, Ms. Hanly was the daughter of Bertie and Imelda Hanly. she received her fashion education at both St Martin’s College in London and The Barbara Bourke College of Fashion in Dublin.
The Hanly family is also known for their restoration work on historic Irish castles,including lough Rynn Castle in County Leitrim and Kilronan Castle in County Roscommon.

Catriona Hanly began her design career with a triumphant jewelry line, sold in over 350 boutiques across Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She later expanded into interior design, undertaking projects for hotels and private residences internationally before focusing on fashion.
