Intended for the El Plateado area, a contract was signed for the construction of the first three kilometers of the road to Algeria.
Social Prosperity reported that it will invest about $61,357 million in social infrastructure work in the department of Cauca, which will be added to a set of actions of the so-called “Agreement for Cauca“, which was announced months ago in Popayán by President Petro.
The work package includes four market squares in the municipalities of Argelia (El Plateado), Puerto Tejada, El Tambo and López de Micay; pavement of 3 km from the El Plateado-Argelia highway; construction of 5 km on the footprint plates of the Gelima-Yolombó path, in the rural area of the municipality of Suárez, and a wooden path parallel to a sector of the river in the said territorial entity.
“All government entities are dedicated to serving this population,” said Gustavo Bolívar Moreno, director general of Social Prosperity. “The president has instructed all ministers and directors to intervene socially in Cauca. Obviously, we give priority to El Plateado, but the intervention is complete, the process is moving quickly,” he pointed out.
To the works that are published for the Pact for Cauca, investment will be addedit is estimated at $56.1 billion for construction 17 Unity Delivery Points (PAS). The nominated municipalities are Argelia, Cajibío, Guapi, Miranda, El Tambo, Caldono, Timbiquí, Morales, Santander de Quilichao, Jambaló, Toribío, Patía, Mercaderes, Balboa, Popayán, Corinto and Caloto.
The PAS are buildings that expand the concept of a market square: their design includes, in addition to sales stalls, storage areas, a communal kitchen and dining room, and a Bienestarina distribution area, run by Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF). .
Overall, the total investments would be affected about 50% of the territory of Cauca, which will focus on the population in poverty, extreme poverty and vulnerability.
